Yes, I now have proof that there is still day light. I took a long walk on the beach yesterday, something that I can't do during the week. I leave for work in the dark; I come home in the dark. I do go down to the beach to say hello sometimes at night. Friday night was so calm and quiet that for the first time ever I did not even hear the water lapping at the shoreline. NOTHING! Yesterday it was great to see clear across the Sound in the light of day. I saw both Port Jeff ferries out in the Sound. One coming; the other going. I did not see one other human being for over an hour. How many places on Long Island can you say that? Here is a photo of a great rock.
