The Calm
On Saturday the Smithtown Bay bitch-slapped me and swept my driftwood bench away, swallowed it up, never to be seen again. The storm churned up the bay's bottom and deposited hundreds and hundreds of star fish on the shore. I also found about 50 baby horse shoe crabs. I threw them all back. They were still like embryos! But today's photo shows the bay at sunset last night. Calm as a sleeping child. Makes you wonder if all that rain, wind and tide surges ever took place at all. The sky was perfect and beautiful in its simplicity.
